These States Are Offering Relief Payments of up to $1,500, Do You LIve In One?

California
Californians will get payments, dependent on income, tax filing status, and household size.

Single/Head of Household Taxpayers
who earn less than $75,000 will receive:

Taxpayers who earn $75,000 -- $125,000
will receive:
$500 with children
$250 no children.

Taxpayers who earn over $125,000 will receive:
$400 with children
$200 no children.

Colorado

Starting in August 2022,

Individual taxpayers will receive $750 

Joint taxpayers will receive $1,500

Delaware

Starting in July through October, 2022,

any resident who filed a tax return in the state in 2020 or 2021 will receive $300

Florida

Eligible families, including foster and adoptive, will receive $450 per child, one time payment.

DCF reports those eligible to receive the payment include both relative and non-relative caregivers, foster parents, some families who receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and those who fall under the Guardianship Assistance Program (GAP).

Georgia

One time payment for residence who filed taxes:

One time tax refund starting in the last August 2022,

Thousands of Hawaii residents are set to get a one-

Less than $100,000 annually will receive a $300 rebate.

$100,001 to $200,000, then you’ll get $100.

Families with children could get more money.

Illinois

Earned less than $200,000 in income on your 2021 taxes you will receive $50 rebate.

Couples with earnings of less than $400,000 will receive $100

Filers will get $100 per child that are under 18 in their household.

Those with children can claim up to an additional $300.

The state is temporarily suspending grocery, gas, and property taxes.

Maine

Individual taxpayers with incomes of up to $100,000

Head of Household with incomes of up to $150,000

and Joint filers with incomes of up to $200,000

will receive $850

Massachusetts

Individuals who earn between $38,000 and $150,000,

will receive $250

Joint filers who earn up to $150,000 will receive $500

New Jersey

Starting in July, residents will receive $500.

New Mexico

Starting in August,

Single residents who earn less than $75,000 will receive $250

Married couples or Heads of Household who earn less than $150,000 will receive $500

South Carolina

After October 2022, residents who filed tax returns in 2021 will receive between $700 up to $800.

Virginia

Between September and October, 2022, residents who filed taxes before July 1, 2022 will receive up to:

$250 for individuals

and $500 for Married couples

The Texas Universal Service Fund, which was previously a surcharge of 3.3% is increasing to a whopping 24%.  The rate is based on the basic service cost of your phone bill.

Every month, Texas phone users pay for the Universal Service Fund so that dozens of rural phone companies can provide phone service to millions of Texans who live in remote areas. The cost of wiring is too expensive.

The state legislators and the governor had two chances to correct, but it was a ruling by the Texas appeals court in favor of the Telephone Association and the Texas Statewide Telephone Co-op in Travis County that set the wheels in motion. Then in July 2022, without public discussion, the Utility Commission quietly approved an order raising the rate from 3.3% to 24%, effective August 1. A note will be included in your phone bill.

Originally, USF was established 30 years ago to provide a dial tone with emergency access to 911 to every Texan. Today, many rural telephone companies are using funds to replace old copper lines with fiber, bringing better Internet service. But USF does not include data, only voice calls. The charges everyone pays are based on the specific charges for your base phone line.

2022 - U.S. National Parks Free Entry Days

The National Park Service will have five  entrance free days in 2022. The free admission days are designed to encourage discovery and visitation of the country’s variety of national parks. So, How Do I Develop My Story?

To craft your pitch, first you have to know exactly what your need is. No one but you can answer this question. Think long and hard about it. When writing your script for your video, keep in mind that it should be no longer than 5 minutes. You want it long enough where the viewer can get a sense of who you are, what your need is, and how they can help; but not so long that they stop viewing all together before your call to action.

Your Pitch Should Include:

1) A video of yourself

2) 1 to 1-½ minutes long- Introduce who you are (show emotions, don’t be stiff and proud, don’t forget it is you who is begging for the money).

3) 2 minutes long - Tell the public what your need is, or why do you need the money

4) 1-1/2 minutes long - What will the donor get in return ( a personalized note, a phone call, what!)

5) 1 minute long – A call to action! What can your donors do to help you spread the word? Share your video on social media, write blog posts, “ I really need your help!” - you can offer to write guest posts).

Depending on your story, you can also use other forms of media such as television but this will depend on if your need is visual or not.
